Welcome

Hi everyone! My name is Kathy Jay and I love a happy ever after! I write feel good contemporary romantic fiction for Harper Collins’ digital-first imprint HarperImpulse.

For me, becoming a published author was a dream long before it became a reality. The dream began with bashing away on an old-fashioned typewriter. Many moons later things took off for real when I entered the manuscript which was to become my first novel, What If He’s The One, in a writing competition. The editor liked my submission and offered me a contract.

I’ve been a bit of a wanderer, having grown up in Northern Ireland, studied Drama and French at university in North Wales, and worked as a bi-lingual PA in London. Since then I’ve lived in Ithaca in Upstate New York, and in the pretty village of Gawsworth in Cheshire – birth place of the scandalous Mary Fitton, reputedly inspiration for Shakespeare’s ‘dark lady’.

I now live in Cambridgeshire and write with my pets for company, the dog usually at my feet and the cat keeping a watchful eye on things. For more of what I’m up to, you can find me on social media.
